Wixon is considered an ‘essential business.’ And we’ve never questioned that for a moment. It’s always been essential to all of us, not only as our livelihoods, but because we have a passion for working in the food industry. We’re here because of all of our extraordinary employees working together and who continue to do so under these unprecedented circumstances.

These are trying times for everyone. Here at Wixon, we feel this acutely; and although our production facilities remain open and running, our first priority is the health and safety of our people. To ensure that, we have instituted new measures to maintain their wellbeing as we continu operations to support our country’s food chain. These measures are in addition to the CDC guidelines we have instituted.

Although we’ve been monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak since late last year and preparing as much as possible, the situation is fluid and things no doubt may change. Nonetheless, we remain committed to doing what’s best for our employees and our customers.

For now though, here are some of the ways we’re adapting the way we work in our facilities:

  • Protocols are in place to ensure only healthy employees are on site.
  • We extended production shifts and are staggering schedules to allow for social distancing of our employees.
  • Only essential vendors are permitted and have to complete a pre-screening to enter the facility.
  • Although many of our employees are working from home, there is a rotating ‘in office’ schedule to maintain continuity in our supply chain efforts supporting our customers.

With our sincere gratitude to our extraordinary team, we have provided “to go” meals and incentives to our employees during this time.

While we may be working differently under the current circumstances at Wixon, our dedication to making quality products for our valued customers continues as always. We are continually mindful that our products are part of our customers’ trusted brands. Our company has seen a lot over the past 100+ years, but one thing hasn’t changed – our passion for serving the food industry.
