The Operations Demand Planning Manager is responsible for all forecasting and scheduling activities associated with customer orders, including inventory management, production scheduling, real time assessment of ingredient and component availability, and optimized utilization of people and equipment resources.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop demand operational forecasts and production schedules for multiple time frames (30, 60, 90 days) based on customer forecast and historical sales data and evaluate forecast results and schedule attainment.
  • Develop and Manage Gross Capacity for core operations (Blending / Consumer Packaging / Outside Operations) and assist in level loading decisions to meet customer demand.
  • Interface with sales, marketing, and customers to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Create and maintain forecast models for all “A” customers and develop for “B” customers. Work with sales and customers to understand demand drivers.
  • Develop and implement the appropriate leading and lagging metrics to track and improve forecasting and scheduling performance.
  • Identify improvement opportunities through thorough analysis of performance metrics and implement action plans to address them with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Develop, use, and maintain the demand planning software as the primary forecasting tool.
  • Provide specific demand analysis to the supply chain organization to develop effective inventory and procurement analysis.
  • Develop and implement processes and systems to increase the effectiveness of demand planning and production scheduling.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications Include:

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years in demand planning and execution position is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience with a proven track record of continual process improvement and meeting or surpassing customer expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods.
  • Intimate familiarity with forecasting, demand planning, and production scheduling software.
  • Demonstrated people management and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with people from all levels and across the organization.
  • High energy motivated with excellent communication and negotiating skills. Assertive and creative with a strong bias toward action.

Education

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Engineering is required.
