Currently we have openings in our Maintenance department as a HVAC Technician on 1st shift. Below are some highlights of the position:
Purpose: Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the HVAC technician is responsible to repair, troubleshoot and maintain the preventive maintenance programs for all Wixon’s Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Equipment (HVAC) at all Wixon Plants on the St. Francis campus. Maybe required to support the maintenance department with various other facility related maintenance as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC equipment (of refrigeration units, isolated heating and ventilating units, including boilers, gas, and electrically operated air conditioning equipment) across 7 facilities, this includes roof top units.
- Perform trouble shooting and conduct repairs on all HVAC equipment as needed.
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls, including (but not limited to) thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, log switches, damper motors, louvers, relays, filters, etc.
- Maintain log of tasks performed and write reports as required.
- Advise Maintenance Department as to required parts and material inventory to support HVAC equipment.
- Operate a variety of hand/power tools and test equipment utilized in the trade.
- Coordinate with outside contractors to install new equipment.
- Support the maintenance department with various other facilities related maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- 1 -3-year experience with commercial HVAC equipment up to 20 ton.
- Standard practices of the HVAC and refrigeration trade and theory of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of the materials, methods, tools (manual and electric) and equipment applicable to the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
- EPA Certified.
- Ability to operate withing and Windows office environment and maintenance basic records/logs.
