Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, this role provides administrative support to the Human Resource Director and Sr. Human Resource Generalist on HR matters including but not limited to employment, payroll, recruiting, personnel records, employee relations, EEO, OSHA administration, benefits and employment law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responds to routine inquiries by employees regarding issues such as, change of address, change direct deposit, time off discrepancies, etc.
  • Assists with preparation and processing of Payroll.
  • Prepare materials and facilitate New Hire Orientations.
  • Files all employee documents in personnel files and maintains up to date employee personnel files including retention within company record retention requirements.
  • Assists with the recruitment/hiring process for non-exempt level positions and contract/agency personnel.
  • Assists with distribution and/or communication of policy changes.
  • Assists with benefit enrollment forms during open enrollment period as related to the employee benefit program.
  • Assists with new hire paperwork such as I-9 documentation, job tax credits, etc. as requested.
  • Assists with preparation of the performance review forms and completion of performance review process as directed by HR Director.
  • Maintains plant and office bulletin boards in an up to date and legal compliance manner.
  • Gathers data and completes wage and salary, benefit and other related human resource surveys.
  • Assists HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by HR Director and/or HR Generalist.
  • Performs other administrative duties such as copying, faxing, creating correspondence, etc.

Qualifications

  • Requires strong technical knowledge and skills in multiple HR disciplines and best practices.
  • Extensive personal computer skills including, payroll/HRIS, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • General knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations required.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and must work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effectively communicate at all levels and with external contacts (such as vendors and applicants), maintaining a positive and professional image.
  • Knowledge of and experience with HRIS and payroll software, in addition to Microsoft Office applications. Past in experience in ADP a plus.

Education

  • College coursework in HR or previous HR work experience related to benefits processing, human resource administration and other HR related government regulations/requirements preferred.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
