The Distribution Manager is directly responsible and accountable for all logistics operations of warehousing, receiving, shipping, inventory accuracy, transportation, and the supply compliance of contractual stocking levels for customer materials and products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures adequate labor, equipment, and transportation coverage to support daily operations safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer requirements.

  • Leads and oversees daily operations of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and distribution to ensure timely and accurate execution.

  • Designs, develops, and implements inventory control, accuracy, and DRP stocking processes to meet contractual supply commitments and accuracy standards.

  • Analyzes existing processes and leads continuous improvement initiatives, including recommending equipment upgrades or replacements to enhance productivity and efficiency.

  • Evaluates the impact of business growth and new customers on distribution and logistics functions and plans accordingly.

  • Manages operations in a cost-efficient manner, including ownership of the annual department budget, financial review, cost analysis, and cost-savings initiatives in partnership with Accounting.

  • Establishes departmental goals aligned with corporate objectives, defines and monitors KPIs/metrics, communicates effectively across all levels, contributes to incentive programs, and represents the distribution function on cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years experience required.
  • Excellent demonstrated management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Competence in computer based inventory management systems. ISO knowledge preferred.
  • Significant prior experience dealing with freight carriers and negotiating freight contracts.
