Flavors From Around The Globe

What could taste better than strawberry shortcake or Mom's apple pie? Well, as delicious as these all-American favorites are, people today are demanding a variety of taste sensations to stimulate their palates.

Where do we find these taste profiles? At Wixon, our flavor search is limited only by our imaginations. We have traversed the globe seeking distinctive taste sensations. We've gone to great ends to match the profile with the actual fruits and nuts, so that you can share these select new flavors with your customers.

Tropical papaya
From the tropics we get a sweet, aromatic, slightly melon-like profile that's true to the papaya fruit. Ours comes as a WONF (WO2522) and an Artificial (WO1907) that can stand alone, or be used to add a tropical note to punches and blends.

African mango
The African mango delivers a profile that is similar to the papaya, but with a slightly milder, more subtle flavor. Ours is WONF (WO2523).

Pistachio
As we journey to the Middle East, we encounter the pistachio. Our pistachio is available in both a liquid (WO2242) and dry (WO2533) WONF. A familiar taste in ice cream and puddings, the pleasant, sweet, nutty flavor of the pistachio should lend itself to many other products as well.

Kiwi fruit
Our next stop is Australia where we come across that fuzzy brown fruit - the kiwi. With its green meat and black seeds, kiwi is gaining prominence in the U.S. marketplace. We offer N/A (WO1933) and WONF (WO2252) versions of the kiwi. Its flavor profile has been described as a cross between a strawberry, banana and watermelon - a unique taste sensation.

Guanabana
As we near the end of our journey, we stop in South America to savor the guanabana - or soursop. Our N/A Guanabana (WO2004) offers sharp, musty notes, combined with the berry and melon background that best characterizes the flavor of this unique fruit.

At Wixon, our flavor search is limited only by our imaginations and the taste sensations of Planet Earth. But, renewed interest in Space exploration could open up a universe of flavor possibilities. Did you ever wonder what the food tastes like on Planet Mars? We have!
