Bread Mixes — Wixon’s Banner Product!

Sensational 1-Hour Mix Suits Improved Technology

With the popularity of automatic bread machines that produce loaves in approximately one hour, Wixon has formulated a One-Hour Country White Bread Mix ideal for a rapid-rise cycle. The mix saves time without sacrificing old-fashioned quality. It also performs well in all cycles of conventional bread machines that produce 1 1/2 to 2-pound loaf sizes.

Package instructions for Wixon’s One-Hour Country White Bread Mix include variations for both the rapid cycle of bread machines, as well as for units with standard cycles exceeding 70 minutes. The box further contains helpful hints for producing an excellent loaf each time.

Wixon Breads Sold Under 3 Labels

Almost a decade ago, Wixon pioneered bread mixes for automatic bread machines with the rapidly popular E.Z. Baker line of five flavor choices. These were soon followed by the America’s Classic brand, developed for and carried nationwide in Wal-Mart Stores. Wixon’s third entry into the fast-growing category of baking mixes was Homestyle Classics, which included a choice of pasta and pizza dough mixes. Subsequent introductions of quick bread mixes and sweet dough mixes have given consumers even more reasons to be creative in the kitchen.

Today, Wixon’s baking mix products are available in many leading grocery and gourmet stores nationwide as well as in health food outlets and from Layton Fruit Market.

Wixon Baking Mixes Offer More Choices

Quick Breads: a delicious and delightfully convenient adjunct to Wixon’s line of bread mixes, the Homestyle Classics Quick Breads are designed for automatic bread machines, but may be made in a conventional oven, too.

Ideal for breakfast, lunch boxes, a light and simple dessert, or an any-time snack, Wixon quick breads are enhanced by a specially-formulated baking powder developed jointly by Wixon and Red Star® Yeast.

The mixes vary between 14 and 16 ounces and contain enriched flour, dehydrated fruit, and natural flavors. Quick breads are available individually, or in a variety four-pack.

Choices include:

  • Banana
  • Cranberry/Orange
  • Apple/Cinnamon

Sweet Dough Mixes: in addition to its popular lines of bread and quick bread mixes, Wixon is providing the rewards of home baking for coffee cake and sweet roll lovers with a new generation of sweet yeast mixes adapted for use in automatic bread machines. Not only is the drudgery removed, but these tasty mixes have also eliminated most of the time and labor-intensive preparation process. And the results are sensational!

Wixon’s sweet dough mix comes in two formulations: the first is ideal for cinnamon rolls or a filled coffee cake, while the second is designed for caramel sticky buns that are truly memorable. Each variation includes all of the basics, allowing the addition of the baker’s choice of nuts and/or fillings. As with Wixon’s bread mixes, preparation ease and consistently excellent outcomes are winning factors. The sweet dough consists of yeast, premeasured and blended dry ingredients, cinnamon sugar, and a vanilla icing mix. For caramel sticky buns, a caramel sauce mix has been inserted along with the yeast and dry ingredients. Directions for both are simple and concise, and either may be prepared by traditional baking methods instead of using a bread machine.
