• Beef prices have increased due to the multi-year drought. Consumers are turning to other forms of protein or no protein at all.

• The economy has changed the way consumers shop for meat, as 91% of consumers now buy cheaper cuts or kinds of meat and poultry.

• Chicken continues to be a key protein, as 72% of consumers make chicken for dinner more than any other protein.
