What are you going to be hearing about in 2010?


  • Overall Health & Wellness will still remain a top trend as we as a country continue to try and maintain weight, health, appearance and sanity!

  • Beauty from the Inside Out: Many products will start to emerge that have "appearance" benefits.

  • Immunity and eating products that can help prevent sickness and disease will be a big topic.

  • Heart Health will remain big as it is still a top killer of Americans.

  • Back to Basics: Consumers have had to simplify their lives and realized that the world has not come tumbling down.

  • Foods that target allergen issues, i.e. gluten.

  • Ethnic Flavor will continue to be a hot trend:

    • More authentic flavors from Asian, Italian and Latin American foods

    • Moroccan cuisine

    • Mediterranean, Argentinean and Peruvian - all with lots of fresh connotations

  • Key ethnic/demographic groups will continue to play a big role in purchase power: Hispanics, African Americans and Asians.

  • Fresh (and local) will continue to be big!

  • Sustainability will be even bigger as everyone gets "on the wagon!"

  • Snacking will continue to grow and be a target for food manufacturers.

  • Breakfast will continue to evolve as meals become more than just sandwiches and cereal.
