Flavor Kits Deliver Aromatic Samples
"The flavor kit is a unique tool that not many other flavor companies utilize," explained Chuck Ehemann, vice president of marketing.
"The kit showcases Wixon's capabilities in natural, artificial, and natural/artificial flavors - both savory and fruited. The idea is founded on more of an aromatic principle, and the flavors were selected on an organoleptic basis - in other words, how they're perceived by the nose.
"Not all flavors smell the same in greatly concentrated form. The ones we chose are consistent with their natural aroma," he continued.
There are a total of 24 liquid flavor vials in the polished oak cases.
Savory samples include garlic and artichoke, while fruit choices range from sour cherry, pineapple, raspberry and peach to green apple, kiwi, grape, and black currant. Some of the more unusual varieties are an N/A smoky, artificial whiskey, and cinnamon butter. Flavor samples in the kit will be rotated periodically to reflect new offerings and seasonal demands.
"Smelling a flavor sample often helps customers be more specific about their flavor preference," Chuck noted. "For example, a strawberry flavor can have a range of tastes - from a green note to fully ripened. The customer can tell the salesperson exactly which is preferred - as well as specify natural, artificial, or N/A, and the type of solubility - so we know what samples to forward.
"Also accompanying the salespeople on their calls is Wixon's flavor technical manual. It characterizes each flavor according to its legal description, suggested applications and usage levels, solubility, and its price range. This helps customers decide right away which Wixon flavor meets their needs and saves them time spent evaluating a lot of samples," Chuck added.
"We believe that these new flavor kits will be extremely helpful and time-saving for our present and prospective customers alike."
